My birthday weekend was brilliant! I had a Karaoke night with old and new friends, all-you-can-eat Chinese food with my Mum, her partner, my uncle, Scott and our kids, a cinema trip with Mum and a barbeque on the roof with Scott's side of the family + lots of laughs and a pile of lovely gifts = three days of fun!
I decided to draw my birthday presents, well most of them anyway. I've decided Illustration needs to be part of my career in some shape or form in the future! I like the idea of doing a range of gift-wrap and cards or something..I don't know exactly yet but I really enjoy drawing. I'm not great at it though so I'm going to practice loads!
I need to improve on spacing and neatness and not making obvious mistakes (like on the tea cup - the straight line should be curved around the cup - doh!) and yeah... just practice regularly for a few years. I really believe you can good at pretty much anything if you just keep trying over and over again :)
Here's what I got:
(Excuse the messy pages, that's just the drawings on the other side coming through)
I also got a Drew Barrymore DVD box-set, loads of posh bathtime fun, more clothes and a few other little bits. I'm so grateful and love it all.
If anyone has any drawing tips or useful illustration-type links please let me know - I want to learn!
