This is the finished custom order bag for (Scott's friend) Danni! She picked the fabric straight from my studio stash and asked for a rounded bag with a long strap so she could wear it across the body for a holiday later this year. The fabric was originally a small dress so I had to be a bit creative with getting the most out of it! There wasn't quite enough to make the whole bag so I used a pink sheet to do the back piece, the lining and the strap. I used leftovers from the flowery stuff to make 2 big pockets for inside the bag - one near the top for things she'll want close to hand and one near the bottom of the bag for things that might need to be kept safe and secure.(I posted the work-in-progress photo a few posts back). I'm happy with how it turned out!
My next project lined up is freezer paper stenciling! This has been on my to-do list for about 200 years. I'm not sure whether to go with the pink fabric paint I already have or wait and buy some black at the weekend.... I do love black on white!
In other news, I'm so happy that today is Jordan's last day at school for a couple of weeks! Mainly because I won't have to do the school run (it takes me 2 hours of walking a day, with Jessica in the pushchair, half of it uphill and in terrible weather usually! Not fun at all) but also because I'm looking forward to just relaxing and spending quality time with the kids. We are definitely going to be doing cardboard dollhouses! Plus we'll be making chocolate cornflake nests and doing these fun kits that my Mum bought us:
... and of course eating loads of chocolate! It definitely tastes better egg shaped doesn't it?
How about you, any fun plans?
